As you know, the Alberta government has introduced a series of new COVID-19 measures that impact the way schools are operating for the next few weeks. This will affect our 7-12 students starting on Monday, Nov. 30, and our K-6 students after Christmas break. These changes do require students to learn from home, and we are going to support students as much as possible.
Our goal for the grade 7-12 is to maintain a schedule that would be as close to a regular day as we can. With that in mind, we are releasing our class schedule to our community so you are able to follow exactly what your students should be doing. You can access that schedule online by clicking HERE. Students have been given a paper copy. It is important that students be available at the start time of classes in order to understand their objectives for the day. Teachers will send links to their classes to the student email, and students are expected to attend, and stay up to date with the course delivery. During the weeks that we have COVID-19 restrictions, Fridays are going to be set aside for grade 7-12 students to check into the classes that they need extra help with. Teachers will be available online to address the needs of students on a flexible basis. Thank you for your patience as we continue to make adjustments.
High school students who are enrolled in courses through Palliser Beyond Borders should stay up to date on those as well. The time to do that during the day is built into their schedule, and staying on track for graduation is important.
If your student needs to be in contact with our counselor, please reach out to Mrs. Stafford at email@example.com.
While we know this is not an ideal situation, I want to shower praises to our community as a whole. Our families have been extremely supportive, and our students have been cooperative and understanding. While we know there will be wrinkles to iron out, if we all work together, we can make it through this. Thank you for your support, and feel free to reach out with any questions as the days move forward. Planning for the changes to the elementary end of the school has begun, so please stay tuned in the next couple weeks for information about what changes will look like during the January 4-8 week. Thank you again for all your support, and as always....GO BLADES!!
